We empower them to scale their positive impact, driving a new, socially inclusive, equitable and sustainable economy. Our community includes national networks and alliances, universities, research centres, knowledge platforms, incubators, accelerators, and social funds supporting social entrepreneurs who blend sustainable business with positive impact. Since 2007, we have partnered with over 200 pioneering organisations and thought leaders from around the world to drive positive change. Today, together with our partners and over 50 members, active in more than 70 countries, we collectively represent over 120,000 social economy organisations across Europe and beyond, and support 25 million individuals annually.

We believe that the future of business lies in those that create positive impact for people and the planet, a mission at the heart of social enterprises. We empower social entrepreneurs, social innovators, and their support organisations, through: developing enabling ecosystems; connecting the network and relevant stakeholders; research, knowledge sharing and thought leadership; impact measurement; enabling access to finance and markets; capacity building, education, skill development and peer learning; generating visibility; and influencing policy and advocacy. We are proud to be a strategic partner of the European Commission, an observer of the UN Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy, a member of the World Economic Forum Global Alliance for Social Entrepreneurship, and a strategic partner of the Social Enterprise World Forum and People and Planet First.

EN is achieving significant milestones in research, knowledge management, thought leadership and impact measurement through initiatives such as the largest survey study on social enterprises in Europe (the European Social Enterprise Monitor (ESEM), the State of Social Enterprise in cooperation with the World Economic Forum and Social Enterprise World Forum, impact measurement of the Google.org Social Innovation Fund and BuySocial Europe B2B and People and Planet First project and movement, developing and strengthening social procurement markets across 17 countries in Europe, and beyond. EN's Knowledge Centre offers comprehensive resources, including reports and best practices, driving the social economy and social enterprise sector forward. All efforts, amongst many others at EN, collectively foster a robust ecosystem for social innovation and impact, widely recognised and utilised by thought leaders and change makers across the world. EN research has influenced impactful policies and funding programmes, such as the European Commission Social Economy Action Plan, Transition Pathway for the Proximity and Social Economy, a €15 million Social Innovation Fund, and so on.

EN plays a crucial role in advancing the transition towards a new, more resilient, socially inclusive and sustainable economy. Our efforts collectively enhance the social enterprise sector, reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and contribute to addressing the global challenges of today and tomorrow.
